The Justice League movie has undergone some significant changes and our hearts go out to the Snyder family in these trying times. The Snyder family suffered a tragic loss of their daughter Autumn Snyder (a young activist and creator of the Write-a-Thon charity) sometime in March. In order cope with their loss, both Zack and Deborah Snyder have stepped away from Justice League production. Although, Zack had initially made up his mind to finish up the film, but as it turns out, it was too much him to bear. Joss Whedon (Director of The Avengers) has taken over from Zack Snyder to complete what he started.
Furthermore, it came as a shock to most fans when they heard that Joss was carrying out last minute reshoots for the Justice League movie. However, it turns out that Zack and Joss had actually been collaborating on the film together. Charles Roven, during an interview with Variety at the Wonder Woman premiere in Los Angeles revealed that Joss was already working on the Justice League movie before Zack finally convinced him to finish the movie in his absence.

“We were saddened by the events that caused Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder to have to leave and turn the reins over to Joss Whedon. He was already working with us on some of the scenes for the additional photography that we’re gonna be doing shortly, and it was fortunate that Zack convinced him, and he agreed to step in and finish the movie, help Zack finish his vision, and we’re excited about that.”
Hence, since Warner Bros had previously revealed that Joss would be directing the upcoming Batgirl movie, it’s impossible to rule out the possibility that Zack and Joss had been working together on the Justice League production. However, its still sad news for most fans that, Zack and Deborah Snyder have stepped away from Justice League production. Hopefully, we’ll spot an Easter egg reference to Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) when Justice League hits theaters in November.
